About

Over the past year the University of the Arts London’s African Caribbean Society has continued to flourish, providing a platform for the celebration of African and Caribbean heritage. The active cultivation of excellence and community in all areas of university life and beyond ,has enabled ACS to become a pivotal society within the University.

All UAL students who wish to learn about and enjoy African & Caribbean culture in a warm and friendly environment are welcome.

Through active member participation, and producing a series of events and discussions which are innovative, entertaining and inspiring, the society has achieved great success.

This year we hope to continue the amazing growth and work that has been done,  providing a safe space and community for students.

Meet the Team

“Hi, welcome to ACS. I’m Alyshia Jack, the president of the society. I’m currently in second year studying Performance: Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins. My family are from St.Vincent and the Grenadines but of course our ancestry is an ever learning journey. I am so excited to help celebrate all elements of African Caribbean culture this year, and  watch the teams vision manifest.”

“Hi, welcome to UAL’S ACS. I’m Dercilia Bari, the treasurer of the society. I’m currently studying at Central Saint Martins on the Fine Art course. My heritage is from Brazil and Guinea Bissau. I’m so excited to be a part of the team this year and to watch this amazing society evolve”
